Do I sound like I have an eating disorder? my mom thinks I do :(?

This is a question I posted earlier:

I’m tried having a healthy dinner… but I’m really wanting to just go all out and eat everything. :( :( :(

For dinner so far:

-5 carrots (that’s all that was left in the bag)
-two slices of hearty whole wheat bread..240 calories!! and about 40 carbs!! :O
I took the crust off, so maybe I saved myself some calories?
- a serving of peanut butter. I don’t want to get fat, but it tasted soo good on that bread :(
I KNOW that was a carb-filled dinner.

The bad thing is though, is that I really want some animal crackers, but I know I should resist, because if I eat just one or two, I’ll end up eating the whole bag. I also want ice cream, and a chocolate chip fiber one bar.

Tell me something to get food off my mind!
Should I drink a lot of water? I need tips like that..

(I’m really tempted to go outside and jump on the trampoline to burn my dinner off!) –and if I’m miserable now, I KNOW I might relapse and have an episode of bulimia. Yes, I have made myself throw up after eating five bowls of fruit loops, and I have a bad habit of exercising after eating something on my “bad list”. I spent an hour exercising after eating five brownies one day :(

5’3 about 105 pounds

your calorie intake for dinner is about the same as mine but i eat foods that fill you up like fish which has 0 carbs :) . Stop eating sweets filled with bad carbs and eat something that fills you up with complex carbs. It doesnt really sound like you have a disorder though. you sound like a normal teenage girl overworrying about her weight.

I think you have a serious problem. Having a bad food list and exercising to cancel out food is a part of bulimia. You are skinny and need some help. You seem OBSESSED with food and weight.

just exercise more and then you can eat whatever you want. i go to the gym every single day and im 5’5″ and 100lbs and i can eat 1800cal a day, probably more bcuz ive got muscle!.

i’m glad you were able to overcome bulimia, its a scary disease. from your height and weight i don’t think you should worry about what your eating.

your not eating helthy and your not eating right.

if you eat right you wont get fat..

eating healthy and exercise is the key..it isnt that hard.
and making yourself puke..not very smart at all that’s great harm to your body. plus you have the chance of having really nasty teeth.

you need help..i think its pathetic and a sad excuse for attention..people are going through worse things then a girl who thinks shes 500 pounds and starving herself.

At 5’3″ and 105 pounds, go ahead and eat the cookies. You definitely are developing Anorexia and you need help. You have the classic symptoms of preoccupation with food but afraid to eat for fear of being fat. I wish you luck; if you don’t treat this it could kill you.

I didn’t finsh your message because I can tell you are obsessed with food. Yeah it sounds like an eating disorder. Just because you aren’t making yourself throw up doesn’t mean what you are thinking is safe!!!! Get help

I would say by far that you have non-purging and purging bullemia.

This is where, you give yourself days of starvation, followed by binge episodes. You either try to compensate for your binges by pruging(laxatives, throwing up) or by non-purging methods (starvation, excessive exercise etc)

You need to see a doctor and you can get amazing medication. I’ve recently discovered that thats whats wrong with me (had it for 13years!) the tablets actually reduce your appetite, so when you try to binge you cant. And the counselling you recieve is also really good. as a result i’ve not been punishing myself for “off” days and despite that have lost 4stone!!!! I wasnt fat to start with

Dieting is okay but what your doing kinda sounds like Anorexia or Bulimia. You should plan out your meals in small portions and eat around 1200cal a day or at least 1000cal. Exercising is great but don’t over do it, walking, trampolining, or going to the gym are good things to do. You should talk to your doctor if you keep having “episodes” and also its a good idea to see them to get a muscle to fat ratio. Since you never know you might just have a lot of muscle.

Its not about how much you eat. Its what you eat. Your body needs calories to function, its like putting gas in a car,you don put gas in your car is going to break down, and your body has extrodinary ways of breaking down which i dont think you want to experience.
You need to seek some help, talk to a friend family member etc. Although you may think that you have recovered from bulimia you can relapse (which seems like you are already concerned with that)
EVEN if your 100% positive you wont relapse, having soo much concern about your body image makes you 2% and up to twice as likely to have suicidal tendencies which is also a concern!!
And btw I am 5’4 110, ive been through a lot of what youve been through, I eat a llot!! iwork out a lot, and I choose what i want to eat and how i want to work it off, i dont take stupid pills (except a 1 a day vitamin) or anything like that. Heres some great hints

    * Breakfast- EAT SOMETHING oatmeal is my fav, if not a cereal with vitamins, i tend to lean towards total with some strawberries or a little sugar, drink something- juice is great has plenty of that VIT C you need! another good one is Milk-calcium and D!! I personaly just like a bottle of water or a black coffee.

    * SNACK OFTEN! this is like have an apple, eat a rice cake something that isnt a meal (like a hotdog or burger etc) eating small items at a healthy pace ( once every 2-3 hours) keeps your metabolism running with you! that way when you have lunch/dinner your metabolism isnt “asleep” and like SHIT here comes a bunch of food!

    * LUNCH amazing meal!!! i tend to stick with a meat and a green, tuna fish salad, turkey sandwich, keep it convienant, nothing overwhelming (like a big mac, fries and a shake)

*Dinner – fist size of veggies fist size of grains and a hand size of meat (your hand size). A chkn breast, broccoli and rice, salmon brown rice and asparagus, pork pasta and carrots, anything! just dont go overboard with things like A1 sauce, Cheese (but oo soo good! dont go nuts with it!!, salt etc.

    * work out consistently! not 2 days one week and 6 days the next week. I like to stick with MWF and an occasional Sat OR sun ( to cure the party) do 20-30 min of cardio with some strength trianing,M-arms W-middle F-legs/butt, working out like you did for an hour….didnt do anymore than working out for 30, sounds odd but after 30 min you are no longer burning much at all. Check the heart rate map on the treadmill, burning fat is at a middle entensity, endurance is lower. A good tip is if you can talk while you are running your heart rate is at a great pace for burning fat. Strength training is important!! losing a bunch of fat is just going to make you weak and frail. Strength training helps you burn calories and use up some of those great things that entered your body!!
If you want more tips email me, keep your calories below/at 2000 (if your over 23 or so you may want to keep below 1400-1700)
Anything less than 1000 isnt that healthy
Dont eat after 9p (how are you going to burn that midnight snack sleeping, if your not going to bed/partying allnighter then snack)
    Drink Water lots of water
Carbs are not your enemyS! they like injector fluid, their like steriods!! they are what turns your calories into energy!! Carb loading (eating a bunch of pasta) isnt bad!! as long as you work out!! leaving a bunch of carbs sitting around isnt going to help AT ALL! working out or just going about your business will allow the carbs to do their job.
SODIUM is your enemy, too much sodium (ramen noodles, soda etc) will water log your body especially since were women! making you LOOK big when your probably not at all, sodium is like putting a bunch of little balloons in your stomach, as you eat and drink those balloons fill causing you to look swollen and larger than you are, much like the bloat you get during your monthly cylce

Yes I have read all you questions and I do think you have one. You feel that your dinner is too much, but hunny its Waaayyy too little! You feel like if you eat alot you wont be able to stop b/c your starving. I too feel this way. And I dont think anyone can eat just two animal crackers.
